- Main research interests
- Inventarisation and determination of the Jongmans collection of plant macrofossils from all ages and from all over the world, but with emphasis on the Carboniferous flora from the Netherlands.
- Revision of the Early Permian flora from Djambi (Indonesia), together with Dr. Isabel van Waveren and Drs. Menno Booi.
- Late Cretaceous conifers from the Maastrichtian of the type-area, together with Dr. Van der Ham, National Herbarium, Leiden
- Santonian plant fossils from Limburg, The Netherlands, together with Drs. H. Bosma.
- Macropalaeobotany and in situ pollen and spores from the Middle Jurassic of Yorkshire, England.
- Macropalaeobotany, ecology and in situ pollen and spores from the Late Jurassic flora of Sutherland, Scotland (with Dr. van der Burgh, Utrecht).
- Late Triassic flora from Bavaria, Germany (with Dr. Kelber, Würzburg).
- Rhaeto-Liassic flora from Bavaria, Germany (with Dr. Kirchner, München en mr. Schmeißner, Kulmbach).
- LM, SEM and TEM work on fossil in situ spores and pollen (ferns and gymnosperms); comparison with living material
