- The National Herbarium of the Netherlands (NHN) (Nationaal Herbarium Nederland) was founded in 1999 as a decentral merger of the three main university herbaria in the Netherlands, namely the Rijksherbarium Leiden, the Utrecht University Herbarium and the Herbarium Vadense.
